Indigenous Disability Awareness Month - SIGNAL BOOST

Posted by David Sartor on

This year we celebrate the 7th anniversary of the creation of Indigenous Disability Awareness Month (IDAM). It was established by the British Columbia Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS) as a means to bring awareness of the barriers and challenges faced by Indigenous peoples living with disabilities. They share similar goals to us at DEAFINE as they also aim to celebrate the achievements and contributions made by these indvidiuals in their communities.
